As of May 17, 2022, the King George County Board of Supervisors is moving forward with the new roof construction for Ralph Bunche High School. The County also has an existing plan which highlights and projects Ralph Bunche as a vibrant venue. See video animations of the plan and prepare to be amazed!
On March 21, 2017, the Wiley-Wilson architectural firm presented a plan to the King George County Board of Supervisors for a series of revisions to the deteriorating Ralph Bunche High School building. Here are the slides from the presentation.

Ralph Bunche High School was built in 1949 and has been an important segment of history for King George County, Virginia, the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Nation. Read a full history of the school here!
The King George-Dahlgren Rotary Club hosted Flags for Heroes from October 31 through November 14, 2020. The Rotary displayed 200 American flags along Kings Highway. This patriotic display allowed the community to honor heroes. Read more about this event here!

For years, the Ralph Bunche Alumni Association searched to find the medium to tell the story of the historic role Ralph Bunche High School played in challenging the “Separate but Equal” justification in public school systems—and how this ultimately led to the desegregation of schools in Virginia. Now, we’ve finally made that a reality!
